미국에서 틱톡(TikTok) 에서 아동에 대한 개인정보를 무단으로 수집하여서 과징금이 부과 되었다고 합니다. 저도 얼마전에 작성한 블로그에 언급한것과 같이 현재 틱톡(TikTok) 앱은 이용하는 서비스에 비하여 너무 과도한 개인정보를 수집하고 있다고 생각됩니다.

미국에서 걸린 아동에 대한 수집관련 사항에 대해서 틱톡의 국내 개인정보처리방침을 확인하니 아래와 같이 되어 있습니다.

"8.아동의 정보

본 플랫폼은 만 14세 미만의 아동을 대상으로 하지 않습니다. 당사가 만 14세 미만의 아동으로부터 개인정보를 수집한 사실을 인지하게 되는 경우, 당사는 이러한 정보를 삭제하고 해당 이용자의 계정을 해지시킬 것입니다. 당사가 만 14세 미만의 아동으로부터 정보를 수집하였다고 생각되는 경우privacy@tiktok.com 으로 연락 주시기 바랍니다." <개정일 2018년 08월>

영문 Privacy Poilcy 에는 아래와 같이 되어 있습니다.

"Children

The privacy of users under the age of 13 (“Younger Users”) is important to us. We provide a separate experience for Younger Users in the United States on the Children’s Platform, in which we collect only limited information. For more information on our United States data collection practices for Younger Users, please visit the Privacy Policy for Younger Users.

The Platform otherwise is not directed at children under the age of 13. If we become aware that personal information has been collected on the Platform from a person under the age of 13 we will delete this information and terminate the person’s account. 즉 과징금이 부과된 이후에 변경을 했다고 생각됩니다.

틱톡뿐만 아니라 내가 어떤 서비스를 이용할때 진짜 필요한 서비스인지 다시한번 확인해보고 해당 앱 가입시 수집하는 정보에 대해서도 다시한번 확인해보고 가입하는게 좋습니다.
